The Rising Junior Summer Academy will be held at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor this year, beginning on Wednesday, 7/30 and ending on Friday, 8/1.
This three-day, two-night event is intended to serve as an orientation to the Bridge Academy program and prepare for the upcoming school year, in addition to providing opportunities for students to explore their personal and professional interests and pathways. Students will stay overnight on campus at EMCC on Wednesday and Thursday nights with peers from their school and other Bridge Academy partner schools around the state of Maine. The event will likely begin around 10:30am on Wednesday (7/30) and likely end around 12:30 - 1:00pm on Friday (8/1). Attached to this message is a tentative agenda for the event (updated agendas will be shared in the coming weeks).
Students are expected to attend Summer Academies as part of their participation in the Bridge Academy program, but we understand there may be unavoidable schedule conflicts and request you reach out to us ASAP about those conflicts. I will be sending further reminders & updates about the event schedule in the coming weeks, but please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any immediate questions.
Rising Senior Summer Academy 2025 Information, Registration, and More
The Rising Senior Summer Academy will be held at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor this year, beginning on Monday, 7/28 and ending on Tuesday, 7/29.
Like last year, students will stay overnight in the residence hall, except that this year it will only be one night instead of two. We will travel around Maine to visit multiple colleges/universities to give students a chance to explore at least a few of their options in Maine after graduation. The event is expected to begin by 10:00am on Monday and end by 4:00/4:30pm on Tuesday.
With that in mind, I would greatly appreciate any feedback from you asap regarding which schools in Maine you would be interested in visiting. While I can’t make any promises, it is helpful to know students' interests when prioritizing which schools to try and include in the schedule. You can provide that feedback either by sending me an email or completing this brief online survey.
For all Students
Please complete this form by July 1
Please complete this form before July 28th
FYI - some students may have completed this form before last year’s Summer Academy, and those students do not need to complete it again. If you are unsure whether you completed it last year, I will be reaching out again in a few weeks to request any needed paperwork, but you’re also welcome to ask me before that time.
Transportation to EMCC – It is the student’s responsibility to arrange transportation to and from Eastern Maine Community College. However, some schools may be able to provide transportation and encourage students to check with their school counselor about those options asap. Parking may be available at EMCC for students able to drive themselves, but also ask that you check with your school for permission to do so before the event.
Dress Code - There is no specific dress code required during the Summer Academy event, but it is likely that the Chamberlain Challenge and at least one employer tour will require closed-toe shoes to participate. Please also remember that you are representing the Bridge Academy Maine program at these campuses and employer tours, and should not wear anything inappropriate. For example, pants or shorts with an appropriate shirt or polo would be perfectly fine.
Bedding and Other Items for Residence Hall Rooms – We ask that students prepare to at least bring their sheets, blankets, and pillows to use during their overnight stay in the residence hall rooms (twin-size beds). We will have very limited bedding available in case of emergencies. Additionally, please plan to bring a towel, washcloths, and toiletries you will need as well (toilet paper and paper towels will be available). Here is a link to an EMCC video tour of Kineo Hall, where we will be staying.
Spending Money – The main costs of the event will be covered by Bridge Academy Maine, however, it may help to have some additional personal spending money available for night-time activities and campus stores during college tours.
If you have questions, please reach out to Lana or Bruce at Foster CTE Center

Welcome to Bridge Academy Maine Where Rigor and Relevance Meet!
The Bridge Academy is more than just an early college experience for high school students. It is a course of study that not only prepares students for the rigor of academic study but also gives students the skills to successfully balance work and school.
The Bridge Academy capitalizes on the high graduation rate of high school students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses by adding college level courses to their programming to produce a graduate that has up to 24 college credits and real world credentials. Graduates of the Bridge Academy complete college earlier with less student debt.
