INITIAL TASK/PREPARATION LIST FOR SENIOR SUMMER ACADEMY 2026.

  • Transportation to CMCC – Foster CTE will provide transportation to and from the Summer Academy. Students are not allowed to drive themselves.

  • Dress Code - There is no specific dress code required during the Summer Academy event, but we recommend you bring comfortable shoes as we will be walking around multiple college campuses over the course of the two days. Please also remember that you are representing the Bridge Academy Maine program at these campuses, and should not wear anything inappropriate. For example, pants or shorts with an appropriate shirt or polo would be perfectly fine.

  • Bedding and Other Items for Residence Hall Rooms – We ask that students bring their own sheets, blankets, and pillows to use during their overnight stay in the residence hall rooms. We will have very limited bedding available in case of emergencies. Additionally, please plan to bring a towel, washcloths, and toiletries you will need (toilet paper and paper towels will be available).

  • Spending Money – The main costs of the event will be covered by Bridge Academy Maine, however, it may help to have some additional personal spending money available for things like campus stores during college tours and any fun activities scheduled during the event (for example, going to the arcade/bowling alley last year). There will be more updated information leading up to the event, in addition to other potential requests/tasks to complete, so please be sure to stay on the lookout for those emails in the coming weeks. Thank you!

If you have questions, please reach out to Bruce at Foster CTE Center

Welcome to Bridge Academy Maine Where Rigor and Relevance Meet!

The Bridge Academy is more than just an early college experience for high school students.  It is a course of study that not only prepares students for the rigor of academic study but also gives students the skills to successfully balance work and school.

The Bridge Academy capitalizes on the high graduation rate of high school students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses by adding college level courses to their programming to produce a graduate that has up to 24 college credits and real world credentials.  Graduates of the Bridge Academy complete college earlier with less student debt.

  • Obtaining 24+ college credits (at a cost of $40 per credit) by high school graduation through dual/concurrent enrollment. These credits will be transferable to all University of Maine System schools, all Maine Community College System schools, and may be transferable to other public and private in-state and out-of-state post-secondary institutions.

  • Structured educational experience. Courses are taught by college approved high school teachers. In addition to their four college courses,

  • Bridge Academy students attend their regional CTE School where they participate in technical education in a field of their choice.

  • Bridge Academy Students attend a 3 day/2 night summer academy on campus.

  •  Guidance counselors, teachers, professors, CTE instructors and parents are all there to help students succeed.

  • The Bridge Academy trains students to advocate for themselves, develop study habits, and attain invaluable experience through summer academies, internships, and job shadowing.

  • Financial literacy training: developing an understanding of college costs, how to navigate the financial aid office, and how to access supports such as tutoring centers and writing centers.

  • Bridge Academy students because of proven college success are often accepted into high demand programs such as nursing that do not traditionally accept high school students.
